This weekend I was working on a friends 82 and noticed a grease fitting on his power steering control valve where I dont have one on my 82. I started looking on my valve and found an allen head set screw. There is a grease boot above and it looks like it should be greased. Is there supposed to be a grease fitting here?

I would be interested in that also.
I have spend all morning working on mine took a break to help the wife and slipped a disc in my back taking the laundry out. Yes it is hell getting old. Now I have to call the brother-in-law to come over an put my tools away. See I only have a carport.

I understand the bad back thing... getting old ain't fun but it does still beat the alternative.

Ok I would like to know how old the oldest member is even if we do not get a name to go with it. Has anyone ever done a Histogram of the ages of the members? Thanks for the info on the grease fitting.
I just replaced my power steering valve and it came with a warning that overgreasing would void the warranty. But the service manuals say to grease it every 6k miles.
Yes, a grease fitting goes in there to grease it A LITTLE BIT, then the service tech removes the fitting and puts the cap back to discourage overgreasing. Too much grease interfears with the ability of the valve to move properly, and the steering won't respond correctly.
This is an older thread, but instead of starting a new one I figured it'd revive this one.Since my car has been sitting for years and all I normally did was pull the car in and out of the garage to do fiberglass work, I didn't really give too much attention to the fact that the power steering was pretty much nonexistent. But now that I'm getting closer to having it road worthy, the ability to steer is becoming a higher priority. So I have a control valve that has a grease fitting. While cleaning up the 30 years of mess underneath I decide to investigate the power steering problem a bit and immediately noticed that I have power steering fluid dripping out of the fitting.
I'm assuming this is a bad thing, but how bad? A roll of Duct tape Bad or new Control Valve Bad? Any help would be appreciated.
