I finally bit the bullet and bought a Vette brakes and products suspension kit. It is the Grand touring plus kit. The guy who helped me out was very knowlegeable and helpful. We changed a few thing in the kit to better suit my car and needs. Different springs. I also got $90 knocked off the price because of my membership to this forum. Cool! I cant wait to get started on the project. Anyone got any tips on doing this installation? Thanks. -Tom

Just out of curiosity, what spring rate did you go to...front, rear or both.

I would love to get the steeriods but I needed the supension even more, so I'm gonna have to live with the stock setup for a little longer. My next thing on my mod list is a EFI conversion. Then maybe the steeroids.

Vette(s): 1968 Corvette Roadster, 427,12.25-1 comp ratio, 582 Hp, 4 sp., 3.36, Steeroids rack and pin. pwr strg, pwr bks, serp. pulleys, 1968 (Factory) L-88 Hood, Vette Br. suspension, Both tops, MSD ign.
I can handle the nice lope and carb problems, and even harder starting when it is cold, but I tell you what when that ol C3 starts to handle like a late model car the whole World seems nicer.
I have a 68 Big block roadster and I installed the steeroids kit and I can't think of a better modification that I have ever done to my car. The steeroids kit was a breeze to install and once I drove the car I was shocked to the core.....
Good suspension is critical, good steering is up near the top with good braking on my list. My Carb setup is reliable and I have a backup carb all set up just in case I run into any trouble. EFI is a wait and see when I can get a good deal.
Try to find others interested in the steeroids and they will knock off another $100 for a order of 10 units. I waited and watched this forum but it never panned out so I spent the $1153 and got it anyway.
Sounds like a nice suspension you got, those boys at Vette Brakes sure do know their stuff. My car looks like one of their rolling showrooms as well.
Enjoy your car but for the bang for the buck you might reconsider the Steeroids first since it REALLY impacts the driving experiance which is so dear to all of us.
Happy Thanksgiving!

at steeroids.com they will give 10% off (115$) for 4 purchases..
well I blew my spendable cash already on the suspension kit... I do need to sell my extra almost new edelbrock carb and I got a used 79 complete differential to unload. Also I got extra th-350 trans crossmember to sell with the dual exhaust holes. someone with a late 79 to 81 might be interested if they got one with only one hole and wanna do a duel early type exhaust set up. If I sell these I can get close to $700-$800 and I can spare to spend the rest on the steeroids kit. My old stock P/S system leaks alot now and I needed to fix it anyways. Hmmmmmm.....
