Vette(s): 1985 silver coupe & 1975 red coupe

I have a 1975 Vette that I just got on the road after a bunch of work. It's a high mileage car and the steering seems to be somewhat loose. I have rebuilt the entire front end so I'm ruling out worn parts. I'd like to try tightening up the steering box but don't know how. Can someone tell me a simple way to do this to take out the play I've got. Thanks....

Check your rag-joint coupler first. It is the coupler between the steering column and the gearbox. It should be in good condition, and not torn/damaged.

Vette(s): 1972 conv, 4-speed, 350, 200hp, numbers match, rally wheels, war bonnett yellow w/white top. good condition, nice driver.

I tried to adjust mine, and it was a flop. The grease has been in there since St. Louis day "1". It is no doubt the next thing to powder, mine looked like dried play dough. Take the old one out and trade it for a new re-built one. Less head ache and trouble. There is core charge so save the old one. It did wonders for my response time on turns.
