Vette(s): 1969 convertible L71 427/435 4-speed black interior
On my '69 I wanted white stripe tires since according to the window sticker and original bill of sale it originally came equipped that way...plus I think white letter tires look lousy with the P02 wheel covers.
After checking the somewhat poor selection of 70 series tires on the market that are available in white stripe, I chose the Cooper Lifeliner SLE touring tires. They have excellent traction and wear ratings...better than BFG, Michelin and the others I checked out. They were a bit more expensive than the BFG...much less expensive than Michelin.
They're not noisy, and are year round tires, though the car doesn't see bad weather. I can recommend them if a touring tire suits your needs.
I have the Cooper Cobra on a different car (not a Vette). I think they're excellent as well.
The '78 Vette I owned had the BFG Radial T/A...I had absolutely no complaints about them as well.

Dave,
Eckler's sells the BFG T/A as their only offer. I am running BFG's on my Dodge Dakota and the ride is the best I've ever had in a truck tire. I have 75's so the tire is tall and absorbs a lot of road roughness.
Thanks,
Terry G.
Scott,
My '82 came with exhaust that thunders at about 80 mph. It's not loud and sharp but more of a roaring thunder and I have to turn my radio up so loud to overcome the noise. I can't hear the tires at freeway speeds but just an overall loud noise of everything combined. I practically have to shout at my wife. Maybe I will try a different exhaust first so I can pinpoint the sound.
Thanks,
Terry G.
