I made a decision today to buy new wheels for the 72. I know I just bought the new cragars this past spring for it and I like them but they are so close to touching the calipers and I really liked the looks of the vettes that have the 17" wheels so today I saw the torg thrust II on sale for 189 with free shipping. They even include the lug nuts as well. I will be waiting for the BFG Comp TA's to be back out in the early spring but I dont think I will ready for them until then any way. If anyone has been thinking about 17" TT II now looks like a good time to buy them.

Good choice, Rodney.  That's what I have on my 74 also and I think they look great.  Wouldn't want to go over 17" as I think they would be too large.  Congratulations.

Larry,
Ive always thought they looked great but I wanted cragars also. So now I'll put the cragars on the 74 and the TT II's on the 72. Are your wheels the polished or chrome? Also what size and brand of tires are you running?  I am leaning to 255/50ZR17. Prefer BFG but may end up going with something different if BFG decides to discontinue that size.

You just don't want to take the Cragers off the 74 (they look good on there)! Always liked the Torq Thrust also, guess I'm old school (maybe just old). That's going to be one fine machine, Rod!

Hey, ebo, we got to meet Rod's wife AND daughter down at the Boardwalk cruise in OC last fall! In fact, Rod graciously allowed his daughter to cruise down the boardwalk in his place in the 74. She wants BOTH his Vettes. Rod's wife is very nice but I think she enjoys being down in OC more than anything else. Didn't get to meet the son but a lovely family! Oh, and you better believe I'm not going to be the one who tells her what Rod spent! Besides, don't you know it's easier to get forgiveness than permission? That's what I live by!

Rod, I've always liked the Cragars too, but liked the TT II's a little better on the Vette.   I have the 17X8 polished wheels with 255/50ZR17 Kumho tires.  You might want to use a slightly smaller width tire on the front, such as 235/ or 245/, as mine rubbed slightly on the wheel wells on hard turns.  I modified the wells slightly to keep them from rubbing.  I like BFG's too, but decided on something a little different this time.

Larry,  I recently sold my business and I now work for a local tire company as a district tire rep. The BFG have been discontinued until at least spring so they can make enough tires for their new G force Comp tires. Then they MAY start up production again on the old model G Force in the 255/50ZR17. That size will not be available in the new tire. So today I decided to order the Hankoook Ventus. Of course they are also back ordered as well. I did find them thru the internet but I feel I should buy them from my employer so I will wait to see what happens. Now Barry, the reason I can wait is I took the Cragars off the 74 back in November so I could drive the car to the exhaust shop and no one would see it without its pretty wheels. So now at some point it looks like I will need to do the switch back one more time. Now as the family the only reason the daughter likes the car is because it gets her attention which she loves and your right about the wife only caring about the beach and not the cars.
As for Ebo, its funny because she has never ask what has been or is being invested into the car. Its good she hasnt. But if she does I can tell her its a lot less then the damn money pit she has to have at the beach. As for meeting her the only way that will happen is if you come to the beach or my house because she hates riding in the vette. She wouldnt even go for a ride in the convertible when I got it because the seats were so bad and also the interior was filthy! Really filthy! But someday I'll get her to come to an event. Oh, even I really dont know what is in this damn car, I have a breif case that I throw all receipts into but I never total them. Maybe someday! LOL

Thanks guys for the thumbs up on the car,
Rodney
