I have a friend that has a 1980 that the power steering pump has a whine and is also spitting fluid out of the top....bad pump or something else?...I'm thinking bad pump. Would control valve anything to do with it?

P.S. trying to get him to join Thumbs Up

So it spits, and whines, but....does it WORK?
If it is low on fluid, it will spit and whine, but if it is full then the pump may be bad. The control valve on the slave cylinder would not cause this.(spit & whine)
