Checking to see if the PS valve is the culprit is easy enough. Jack the front end up and put it on stands. Center the steering wheel, then start the car. If the wheel moves in either direction, the valve needs adjusting. If the wheel stays straight, then that is not the pull problem.
Don't leave out a possible rear brake problem, either. Rear brake drag, or a stopped up hose will also cause a front end "pull".
Frame damage can also cause it, even with the front end alignment set properly.
The P/S valve adjustment procedure has been posted here before...I'll see if I can find it...
