Hey folks. After restoring my '77, I'm not happy at all with the fiberglass rear spring. It rides like a tank, but my main problem is ride height. Thr rear sits way too high. I have 8 inch bolts on already, and I thought that would solve the problem. I was wrong.

All I could find when looking for coil-overs was Shark Bite and Ride Tech.  Both expensive due to the extra hardware required.

Sounds like the spring has too much "lbs rating" for the car.  Maybe mismarked in production?   My spring made a fantastic change for the better 26 years ago when I put it on.  I had a steel gymkhana "buckboard" spring in it from the factory.

The fiberglass spring is supposed to be an upgrade from the steel spring, and coilovers are $$$$.  Other than looking cool, I don't think the Sharkbites coilovers are that great of an upgrade.

I'm thinking that its too heavy of a spring also... I'm disappointed in it.

What brand and what what was it rated at.  I'm going on memory but I'm thinking a '77 used a 315lb rated replacement glass spring.  My '81 took a 330 because of the added weight of the rear glass.  340 & 355 were high performance.....ie rougher ride.
Find your bill of sale for the part number and cross reference it to find out the weight.
