I have looked to see if I could find the specs on the stub shaft end-play, but I cannot find it anywhere.
I do know that Duntov stated that 1/8th inch was considered "normal" I'm not a mathmagician, so I don't know how much 1/8 inch on the shaft would translate to camber change at the wheel.
I DO know that when I rebuilded the diff on the '74, I mixed up the snap-rings for the stubs, and wound up with about 1/8 inch play on the driver side, and none on the pass. side. One o these days, I'll pull it out & fix it.
I have to think Ken is right, tho. Maybe .08/.010" would be better?Adams' Apple38675.9369444444

Okay sounds great.  Snap rings and stubs for openers and trailing arms rebuild for a bonus. How about locating a good diagram or preferbly a blow up of the rear suspension including differential.  I would like to locate and order parts so that I will have no longer a waite.  This is a car I had planned on selling.  I have a white one just like it.  I will probably change the spring and exhaust system while Im there.  When all is done it will be a keeper. oh well.

                  Thanks Again,

I will keep you informed as to what I find

When I did the rear suspension, etc. on my '81 I got alot of stuff from Corvette Central. They have alot of OE type parts. Also, their catalog actually has some nice parts explosions to order from. A GM shop manual is a must as well. The best thing you can do, though, is get the Van Steel video of front and rear suspension R&R. About $20 and I think Corvette Central has that too. The only thing that was a bitch for me when I did mine (besides getting the parking brake spring retainers back on) was removing the pins holding the trailing arms to the car. Chances are, you'll need a sawsall or something equally evil but you'll get them out. The rest isn't bad at all. Like they say - it's a great winter project!
