I believe the front wheels hubs came to the factory pre assembled and perhaps that is why i cant find them in either a 69 or 81 assembly manual..

long story short i need the torque for the 1/2-20 prevailing torque nuts (stover nuts) that attach the wheel hub to the steering bracket (the far end is where the tie rod end connects).  I need this ASAP, just to fix the car this weekend and have serached both assembly manuals to no avail..  either i am looking in the wrong place or it isnt in there.  if you know find it, tell me where please.

You can Google Stover nut torque charts and find the information you're looking for.

In my 72 factory service manual it says Wheel Bearing Adjustment 12 ft lbs

Preload zero

End movement .001 to .008

I think he's talking about the bracket that the tie rod connects to but not sure.

Tie Rod End Stud Nut = 35 ft lbs inner and outer  plus additional torque required to align castellation with cotter pin hole in stud (not to exceed 50 ft lbs).

that wasnt what I was looking for either but I used a generic torque chart for stover nuts and just torqued them to 70 lb ft 

the wheel hub attaches to the brake caliper bracket and the steering bracket.  the bolts that connect the wheel hub to the steering bracket (one also passes through the brake bracket) had stover nuts on them and they came loose.

i reused them when i built the chassis..  i planned to replace them before getting it on the road..  i forgot and they were oddball size 1/2-20 (NF) in grade 8 so i didnt have them lying around  

anyway..  one came off (front on passenger) the rear pass was loose, maybe 1/4 of play and the front on driver was hand tight, came off with index and thumb twist

I have no clue what bolt you are talking about.

how do you envision the steering bracket attaches to the wheel hub ?

anyway... i have figured it out...  but if you want to know what I am looking at, just look at the inside surface of your front wheel hubs and there will be two stover nuts.
