Why are you looking at this if the brakes are good? I was always taught to check you pedal with the car off and on. There should be better feel on the pedal with the engine running. You could also plug the vaccum line and see the difference.

Confused Maybe I should say the pedal is REAL close to the floor. LOTS of pedal movement, but good brakes.

A bad booster will give you a hard pedal.
If the pedal is going(almost) to the floor, but the car does stop, you have:
Worn pads/rotors
Low fluid
Air in the system
Mis-adjusted pushrod from pedal to booster

Will the pedal "pump up"? Or does it always go down like that?
What car are we dealing with here?
What does the pedal do without the engine running?
Does the pedal go down when the engine is started?

Never gave rod adjustment a thought. Pads and rotors are good. System has been bled multiple times. Fluid is good and no leaks. I am still of the opinion that the system has air in it. Can't seem to get it out. Brakes have been the same since I bought it. 75' base "T" top.Confused

Maybe then the rod IS mis adjusted! It's worth a try!

Possibly the master cylinder needs rebuilt or replaced?
