I am in the process of rebuilding the front end of my 73. I have been unable to remove or loosen the bolts holding the upper control arms onto the frame.
The nuts are off and the arm can slide down the bolt but the fan shroud is in the way for removal of the arm (both driver and passenger).

My question is: how are the bolts removed, do I just have to use more torque?

Got it -- whoa, just about screwed the pooch. Thanks for the info, all they gotta move is a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch then I got the arms off.
