My 1975 Corvette has P235 60R 15 raised white letter tires on the front and AP295 50R 15 raised white letters tires on the rear. The car sits high and I'm looking to get a conventional ride height and also closer to normal size tires on the vehicle. Originally it came with G70R 15 tires, but I'm not concerned with keeping the car 100% original. The wheels on the car come from a 1976-1979 Corvette (I believe) and are 8" wide (see photos).

Any recommendations on proper tire size?

Vette(s): White '79 Corvette. It's a driver.
There are two commonly used sizes.

225/70-15    &    255/60-15

I have the 225's but it seems like most folks use the 255's, from what I've seen.

Sizes as stated are correct, go to any sight like tire rack and they have a drop down for your car with sizes and makes. You also can compare side by side.

Vette(s): Gone, but not forgotten: 1974 Coupe Red, matching numbers, Black Interior, L-48 w/ 4 speed; The “Admiral”, also gone and never to be forgotten. 1994 Admiral Blue LT-1 coupe, Black Interior Automatic

I run 225/70-15 B.F.G. TAs on my car. I had read on this website a while back that there could be clearance issues with older C3's and 255 section tires. Since my car is a '74, I decided to go with 225/70-15s. I also did not want to reduce the ride height and invite clearance issues with my exhaust system. Circumference is also important for speedometer accuracy. Although Corvette and accurate speedometer in the same sentence seems to be an oxymoron.

What came on the 75 wasG70x15 steel belted radial's. I agree with everyone else on the two sizes.I have 225/70-15's on mine and it rides fine.

Did you have to make any modifications for clearance, or did the tires fit with the stock setup? Which brand tires do you have?

Like mine, your Corvette does not have the front spoiler.
You should be just fine with the 255/60-15's.

I have the BFG T/A's. I'll buy 'em again when the time comes.

Some members have had good things to say about the Firestone Indys.
