Looks like my wonky Sears air shocks are causing the lean on my 70 convertible, I'm a big fan of Bilsteins having used them a few times on other cars with good results but can't find a listing for my car.
Anybody got a Bilstein part number for the rear shocks so I can get them on order.
Many Thanks
Graham

I just tried searching for the Bilstein part numbers quoted on the Summit racing site with Bilstein and they don't recognise them.
Found them quoted on the online catalogue with a price but couldn't find a way to place an order so ended up ordering from Summit which even with shipping and tax was better than the price quoted from Bilstein Europe!
Just have to wait for their arrival now.

Air shocks?!? What the heck are you guys over there doing to these poor old cars?!

I missed the "air" part when I first read this....I was going to say shocks don't actually hold any of the weight of the car, so they couldn't cause a lean...unless one was completely seized up. THEN I saw the "air" part.....so...never mind.

Lot of guys are using KYB shocks on these cars an loving them. Bilstiens are good too, tho.

Hi Joel, not guilty, they were on the car when it arrived from Texas and look as if they've been on there for ever!
Hopefully the Bilsteins will fix the lean when I get them on, had a bit of luck today when I went to enter it on the C3 registry and found it already there, one family ownership from 1975 till sold in 2013 with mileage near what's showing now so looks like the miles are correct and low
as been stored for quite a while.

Got the Bilsteins didn't take too long and a great price from Summit, managed to get one on yesterday in between entertaining the grand kids so hopefully will get the other one on today then see how the car sits after that.
The old air shocks that came off didn't appear to have any damping affect at all beyond a bit of friction so now thinking perhaps I should have ordered the front ones as well.
