I am trying to locate a rear Compartment above jack items in original Fiberboard for restoration to NCRS judging levels . Unsuccessful to date - have plastic one in vehicle now and you cannot tell unless you remove . Have tried ebay - all are really worn and damaged . Any chance an owner would exchange plus sat $100.00 to trade out on a vehicle that is not going thru NCRS judging ?

Worn & damaged boxes can be repaired to NCRS standards, if you have an old one, or can get one that is correct for the car, as they are dated. Just need to find one dated properly, then have it repaired. If you are an NCRS member, there is a feller that does these repairs, and he is always advertised in the "Driveline". Thumbs Up

If you are going to restore your car to NCRS standards, then you should get the judging manual for your year.  It tells
you everything about date codes and part numbers.
You do have the AIM, right?

Vern, welcome to C3VR and good luck on getting your car ready for NCRS Judging. As Gary stated the first thing I would do is get the latest NCRS Technical Manual and Judging Guide for your car. The newest version of the 70-72 Guide was just revised and released last year so it should be a great resource for the info you are looking for. I’m not sure how the new 70-72 guide describes the storage tray but the manual for my 73 states that the storage tray “may” have a part number or date code stamped on the bottom. Part numbers need no explanation, date codes may be numerical or alpha numerical. Acceptable dates for Judging are generally within 6 months prior to the body build date of the car. The other difference is that original trays were approx. 6 3/8” deep while repos are normally around 5” and are a dead give away. If you can find an original tray without a p/n or date code you will do better than a repro tray. Hope this helps !!
