Hey all!

The interior color code for my car is 421 Saddle Leather.  How do I figure out what shade that is??

Eckler's only lists Dark Saddle for 72, but Corvette America lists Dark Saddle and Light Saddle.  Both Dark Saddle shades look too dark for the color on my steering column and trim, but the carpet, door panels, and seats in my car look too dark for the Light Saddle.  I'm guessing that might be due to age and sun damage from having the top down, but I don't know.  A picture I saw online of another 72 with Saddle looked to be the same, with the carpet, door panels, and seats darker than the rest of the trim.  So I have no idea which shade is correct.

I've tried looking for color samples of the four interior colors offered in 72, but I can't locate any online.  I've seen pictures of other 72 vettes with Saddle interior, and they seem to be several different shades as well (light and dark interiors), which can be a photo issue rather than an interior issue.  Of course looking at a small photo of a color sample is much different than seeing the real thing in person, so the Dark and Light shades in the magazines might be off a bit.

Could there have been a difference between the Saddle Vinyl and the Saddle Leather colors?

Everything I've seen so far concerning the 72 interior just lists Saddle as the color.  How do I figure out what shade of Saddle was used?

Thanks for any help!

Bryan

The dash trim & steering wheel are darker shades from the factory. The seats and carpeting will definately fade over time. If you take one of your seats out, you will see the actual color of the carpet, underneath. Unless you have black, all of the colors may not match exactly, anyway.

Ok here is the scoop, from 70-75 Madrid grain vinyl with comfortweave was provided. 70-72 code 417 was dark saddle. For 72 leather smooth grain was an option, only two colors available Black code 402 & Dark saddle code 421. There should be no color change on the seat material, some shades different on door panals and dash.

Very cool, thanks!!  I almost went with the light saddle because of my steering colum, but my seats, door panels, and carpet all appeared to have been the dark saddle.

So dark saddle it is.

The color is definitely DARK SADDLE. The code 421 is for dark saddle with deluxe interior.... leather seats, cut-pile carpets, carpet w/metal trim inserts on the door panels.

There is NO difference in color in vinyl or leather seats.

Just remember if you buy seat covers from one company, buy the rest of the interior from the same company.  Colors sometime vary from company to company.

That's probably why some places have both colors listed for 72, they're confusing it with 73.

I really like that shade of green by the way.

How's the foot/ankle?  Will you be able to make the drive to PF?
