I just bought new visors and after installing them they keep falling down. Anyway to keep them up without wrapping tape around the chrome pins that hold them on? Its a 68 roadster. I removed them 'cause I just can't stand them falling in my face all the time. Very frustrating as They really look good on the car, and I'm sure they divert some wind while driving.

I put a new set on my 68 coupe last year. The original ones had a screw that you would tighten. The new ones didn't have the screw, but only a crimped metal flange that is used. Mine have stayed up so far, but I can see where it could be a problem in the future. The only thing I can think of is to make sure you're feeding the chrome rod into the right area. If I remember, I experimented and moved them around a bit until I got the best fit. Good luck.

Thanks for your help. My new set did come with a screw to tighten the sheetmetal around the pin, but the pin is so smooth that they will never stay up. Bad design I am thinking. Hopefully someone else had the problem and have an easy solution. |biggrin|

You could screw the set screw deep enough to score the rod with the visor in the up position then remove the rod, put it on a drill press, and drill deep enough to make an indentation so that the set screw will seat into the indentation but will snap out when pulled down, snap in when pushed up.
