I just received my restored original gauges back and I am getting ready to reassemble the center cluster, bezel, lense, etc..

When I removed the gauges from the bezel, 2 pieces fell out on the bench before I could see where they go and I cannnot figure out where they go.

The pieces are about 1"long x 3/8"wide x 1/4" thick. There are two of them and they look like they are made of sponge rubber.

Also, does anyone know where I can buy replacement pieces since mine are hard as a rock. I am also looking for the small rubber pieces that help keep the lense in place on the large bezel.

I'm not real sure about the sponge pieces, Dr Rebuild has kits for re-installing gauges. I've bought a lot from them and the stuff seems to be ok. The only prob I ever had was returning a wrong shipment. I had to re-box and send back, they were quick to replace my order, but didn't re-imburse the shipping costs.

Not exactly sure about your sponge rubber parts. Dr Rebuild does have a very nice kit for gauge installation. The small rubber strips are not available anywhere I know of, I found mine at a show. Guy was selling a bezel and took the gauges out, I gave him $1 for the little rubber strips that he was probabaly going to throw away.

Those sponge rubber pieces are anti-rattle foam that fit between the lens and bezel. There should actually be four of them I think. There are "placement holders" in the bezel face where the lens fits. so their place ment is between the lens and the gauge bezel. I hope this is making sense. If it is not obvious when you look at the back of the bezel face then email me and I will pull out a set and take some pics.
