Vette(s): 1980 Frame Off Restore, Gun Metal Grey with Dark Red interior. 350 four bolt with forged pistons, Crane Cam, 1990 Tuned Port Injection System, Headman Elite Headers. Fairbanks Automatics, Detroit Locker Rear, High Performance Suspension.
Had my floor pan changed and installed a electric drivers seat but the bezel mounting looks weird
. They screwed it to the front of the seat facing forward. Can someoe help me out with a proper description of how it is supposed to be installed or better yet som pictures? Thanks. Jim

6880mike, I really appreciate the pic. Have looked all over the net and although the conversion is talked about alot, it is impossible to find a picture. Thanks for the help. Jim

The only difference between 80 and 81/82 is the power driver seat and it requires the installation (welding in) of a 81 power seat floor pan. Don't believe the parts store they do not use the same pan.
I just went through this. And by lower shell we are talking about the plastic shell that the lower cushion sets in.

Also I just put remote/manual sport mirrors on my 80. The 3 wires that went to the bezel on the door panels had been cut to get them out of the way when they replaced my door liners i guess.
But the replacement mirrors were easy enough to find and fairly cheap on ebay.

Hope this helps.

Watch the mirrors from the salvage yard. Camaro/Firebird (etc) may not fit the Corvette. 82 assembly instruction manual will show the installation.
