Vette(s): 77 xtreme project,80 project,and a 74 L48/auto white with blue interior!
The trim plate is gone from the car.... Makes me wonder... But I guess the only way is the get the tank sticker. I bet its gone too. The guy that has it says its Mahogany/Mahogany leather. It runs and drives great.

There was no mahogany leather for 81. I'm wondering if the seller thinks camel tan is mahogany.
Where is the trim plate? The seller might have it. Wouldn't hurt to ask.
If it's a St. Louis car, Allied-Vaughn might have a copy of the dealer invoice. If it's a Bowling Green car, the National Corvette Museum might be able to provide a copy of the original build sheet.
FWIW: I would not count on being able to find the tank sticker. As you can see, taping them to the fuel tank left them in a very exposed position. The original sticker may no longer be there.

The seller has no idea where it is. The orig ower is dead. He picked it up from his kid. I talked to him and he said car was painted in 96ish and he has no idea where it is. But as a bonus its still has the orig title from when it bought new with cash. But thats about it for papers

A little '81 trivia for you.
In 1981 St. Louis built cars came in solid colors and the paint was lacquer.
Bowling Green built cars came with (the then new) base coat clear coat paint, and they were two tone colored cars.
I'm sure there were a few exceptions back then besides the rare primer only cars. But this was the norm back then.

A little correct '81 trivia for you. Two-tone and solid color cars were produced at both plants. All the St. Louis cars were acrylic lacquer; all the Bowliing Green cars were acrylic enamel bc/cc.

Ok, my little corvette trivia book is wrong then. Pics are proof, I totally agree.
My trivia book is now off to the landfill.

Nah, don't toss it. Hang on to it. Early on there was confusion about the two toned cars and where (exactly) they were produced. It took the NCRS a while to figure it out. Most of the confusion dealt with the acrylic enamel paint and the belief that all the two-toned cars were shot with enamel. Had that been the case, they would have all been Bowling Green cars. These days we know two toned cars with lacquer were produced at St. Louis.
