Thanks for all the feedback. Its great to have this type of forum to bounce ideas off of other peoples noggins..

I still haven't made up my mind what to do but I really do appreciate the help.

I am leaning toward buying a new bezel for a new modern radio and keeping the old bezel in case I decide to go that way later on ...... |thumb|

James,
If you're still on the market for a stereo I have one available. I just picked it up last week, since I didn't tell anyone my wife went and bought me one also. The one for sale is an Alpine CDE 7872. It has a number of features, 50W X 4 Mosfet Amplifier, Max Tune tuner, cd-r/rw playback, Regulated 1 Bit DAC, detachable face plate etc, etc,This radio came out of my friends wife car who had it for 2 months (sold the car)it's in excellent (new) condition with all the hardware, including the manual. I paid 150.00 and asking the same. If you're interested let me know, shipping is free. You won't find an Alpine with these features for less than $225.00 |thumb|

Ok, try Lowcountry Corvette in Charleston S.C. 843-822-0606. They have an ad in this months Corvette Fever (Dec. Issue)
www.lowvette.com
They have (I think) what you may be looking for in a bezel that will accept a new system.
