From reading all sorts of posts about willcox quality I went ahead and ordered a carpet set for my 82CE.Boy was I disapointed to say the least. It came from ACC and the carpet pices that go on the back of the seat back don't even come close to fitting. The reason I ordered from wilcox instead of the other places was because I didn't think I'd be getting ACC carpet.I've had issues with ACC quality before and didn't want to go there again. And of course I can't find the receipt so I can't return it.I've got EVERY receipt for everything I've bought for the vette except that one.Just my luck.

Everything else we have got from Wilcox has been great, but you're sure right about the carpet. Very poor

It wouldn't hurt to give Wilcox a call and explain your situation. Maybe they can fix the problem. They might have a record of your purchase with them if it was recent. That's unfortunate that the carpet pieces don't fit. I'm glad to say that I didn't have any issues with their carpet set for the '81.
Good luck,

Do as Sarge said....CALL Wilcox....
and I would mention that 82 Crossfire had the same issues with
the carpet he purchased thru them also....
I am a confired Wilcox customer...have ordered tons of stuff thru them
for my 64 and all 3 of my C3's... And since Wilcox is basically a drop ship Vendor THEY NEED TO KNOW that THIER supplier is not up to par....
Wilcox, as well as you and me and every other Corvette owner will be better off IF YOU COMPAIN about quality ,,,
I never heard of any complaints on carpet ordered thru Wilcox BUT I understand that Weather stripping was a problem in the past and Wilcox just went with another supplier...

Well the problem is with ACC.I've just had bad results with ACC.I did call Wilcox today and talked to a guy named Tommy. He is sending me another pair of seat back carpet. No charge for shipping either way.I will say that he handled the problem right away.I just hope these carpet panels are better than the ones I have.I've never had a problem with ACC as far as fit.My problem is with fading and it's not a uniform fade it's more like in places.Looks like crap within a year and this is with cars that stayed in a garage when not driven,so we will see how this goes.Once again Thanks to Tommy at wilcox for taking care of me.
I bought a set of seat covers from them (they got them from Corvette America) The color was way off. I ended up going with Al Knoch. They cost a little more, but good quality, that's who I'm going to go with for my carpet.
Matt
I should have gone with Al also.I got my seat covers from him and man are they sweet!!!I don't know what everybody uses on their leather but the guy that installed my seat covers said by far the best product to use is mink oil.You find it in the shoe stores.High end shoe stores.I did luck out and found mine in Walgreens.Looks just like a can of shoe polish.Anybody use this stuff?

I hope its not wrong stuff, and not mink scent, you will know for sure the next time you go out in the garage and there are 2 dozen MALE MINKS trying to scratch there way into your VETTE to get at the seats
