I'm new here and it looks like the help I need is here. I have been restoring a 77 for 3 years. It sat for 5 so everything with a seal was shot. I began with the mechanics ( brakes, engine, suspension) moved to exterior and am now on the interior. I have 2 gauges not working, clock and engine temp. Is there a fix for these or do I need to replace them.
Thanx in advance for any help.
Tony

Welcome to C3VR, Tony!
You may have a problem with the printed circuit board for the gauges, as they fail all the time. Corrosion on the terminals is quite common. Sometimes just unplugging, and plugging back in will fix it. The circuit boards are available, and reasonably priced, around $40, I think. Check with some of the supporting vendors here, such as Mid-America, or Bair's.

I replaced my clock with a quartz unit. Pretty simple process to remove and replace. Take your time with the tangs on the back of the clock housing so as not to break them when you remove it. (they are very brittle.)
Engine temp can be a burnt out light or the wire sending unit / wire. You will have to test this 1st to see which.

Tony,
Welcome to the site.
The first thing I would do it try to trouble shoot the system to determine what is not working.
Do you have power and good ground to the clock and temp gage?
Do you know if they were working before it went into storage?
Can you remove the clock and test it outside the Vette?
Someone here can give you some tips for checking the temp gage.
Good luck and let us know what you find.

For temp. guage, check the sending unit, you may have knocked the wire off it when working on the engine, it happened to me once.
