I have cloth seats with leather trim in my 79 Code 59C?). I need to look at replacing the covers but I'd like to keep cloth with leather trim. All I've found so far is leather only.

Anyone have any ideas?

In my book 59C is Doeskin Cloth. Do you maybe have cloth with vinyl trim? I do not see a cloth/leather combo for a '79

I guess it could be cloth and vinyl... otherwise known as cloth and pleather .   That would explain why it ripped so easy.

I'm not aware of any suppliers that make the cloth and leather seat upholstery...everyone only lists all leather or leather surfaces with vinyl trim. You may have to get it custom made by an upholsterer that can find a match for the cloth.

My '78 came with leather and cloth upholstery...when I re-did my interior, I did it all in leather and bought matching door panels. That worked out cheaper than having everything custom done like original and is better wearing than the cloth.

Not trying to sound nasty here but...

Doesn't the leather make your butt and back sweat ?

Not really...I generally only drive the car with the tops out so there's plenty of ventilation. I'm 6'3" so my head tends to stick out of the roof with the panels out. It can get cramped with the tops in.

Granted, leather does not breathe as well as cloth, but it's better than plastic in any form.  I like the leather.  It's the easiest to clean and care for.  Also very durable.  Summer time with shorts can be rough, but I don't wear shorts.  No problem.

I always wanted to be featured on COPS, getting arrested for indecent exposure in a Corvette. Oh and I'll leave a crack pipe on the front seat too...

Oh....wait a sec...that's already been done.

Now I gotta come up with something original again....
