Does anybody have any experience with these sound systems. Comments, pro or con would be appreciated. sounds like a lot of money and not much power. Comments?

I have heard more negative things about AutoSound equipment than good things. |ohwell| |no-no| You can check the C3 INTERIORS forum for a couple other opinions. Good Luck |biggrin|

I have a USA5 and 5 disc player in my '69. It is supposed to be a 100 watt unit. I use Sony 100 watt speakers in the front kick panels and a full width rear speaker set up ( from either MidAmerica or Eckler's ). Personally I think it sucks. The radio dial is SO SMALL there is no way to actually see it unless you are stopped and have your eyes two inches away from it. Also, I can barely hear it. I think Alex Nelson ( he is a member of C3VR, just do a search for his name ) still has his set up for sale but before you try to buy it from him, ask him to make you a new bezel setup with a good head unit ( of your choice ). He does great work and has very reasonable prices. If I remember correctly, the Autosound unit is what caused him to start up his sterio business. |smile|
Good luck.

I have the usa5 and 6cd changer in my 73. With Infinity 4x6 plate speakers on top of the dash and cheap 6x9 tri's in the rear, I can listen with the top down, and the horns on my Chicago CD sound great. I am going to get an amp, better rear speakers and a sub, because the system lacks bass. But that's why people buy amps and subs. Joe

PS, I wanted to keep my interior stock looking, and not hack up the dash. I don't want a blue light LCD screen stereo in my 30 year old car.

PPS, I also tried a CAS Kenwood unit, but it sounded lousey, so I bought the usa5 setup

Appreciate the input, fellas. Decided to go the oem and put a refurbished am/fm stock radio back in. If I want to listen to the stereo instead of the wind, I'll drive my truck. Thanks |cheers|
