Hey, I have to remove my dash to get to the bolts for the power booster. Is there anything I should watch out for when removing the dash?

I currently have my dash pulled out (dash, console, dropped steering; the whole nine) to install new front speakers and a new radio.
It was recommended on another post that while being there, you replace all the light bulbs and you might want to verify the main harness. I ordered a bulb kit from YearOne.com which contains somewhere around 43 bulbs for mine and part number QBS21
contains 49 for yours.
You can also inspect for a common oil leak (don't know from where), but I didn't find any in mine, so I can't tell you more about it. There was a post not even a month ago about that.
You can also clean the air ducts simply with soap/water.
I don't know about the clock on an 81, but if it's like mine (not working) you can try to clean it (look for another post around here for that; it point to this link.)
As far as "what to watch for", I would say take your time so you don't pinch a wire when you put it all back and don't forget about the power booster, since this is what you are really trying to get to.

I believe that you are referring to the plastic oil pressure line which runs from the rear of the block to the O.P. gauge. It can become brittle over time & leak oil under the dash and everything below it.
This will definitely be a part of my winter dash rebuild project.

I believe the 81 is like my 79 and it has an electric OP guage, so no line to worry about.

Man, what a day. I see now why corvette guys charge 80 + and hour to work on these things. After 5 hours of taking the dash out the center console out and getting to the four bolts for the brake power buster its finely done. And it works (yes I am surprise). Thanks for all the info it came in handy.
