Anything 68-76 will fit your cluster without cutting.  If memory serves, the 6 in 61YFM1 is the year code (probably 1976).   Beginning with the 77 models, stereos were regular Delco and not unique to the Corvette.

Does the seller have the output capacitor for his radio?  You will need a single for mono, and a pair for stereo.

I also believe it is a 76.  Here is a picture of one including the extra module.  Your '70 should have green numbers, and this one has white, but it will fit and work just fine.  If you currently have an aftermarket radio, make sure you put in 10 ohm speakers or it will ruin the radio.

We send our radios to S&M Electrotech.  763-780-2861  www.turnswitch.com

Jimmy,

The 61YFM1 is from an FM Stereo radio from a 1976 vette.

You can still keep the radio original looking but upgraded internally with modern electronics.  I sent mine out to Mike Hagan (215-547-714) in PA.  I run a set of 4x6 Polk Audio speakers in front & 2 6x9 Polks in back (in individual enclosures) that can be removed.

It's not a Blaupunkt, but it sounds way better than the original radio.  Plus it has I-Pod outputs in the rear.  All in all, I prefer my Magnaflows to the radio.

Good luck,
Anthony

Anthony,

You hit the nail on the head. I haven't repaired my radio because I wouldn't be able to hear it over the exhaust.
