Solid article!  I like how the guy took time to take the appropriate pictures and insert them into his article.  Most times a pictures DOES say a thousand words.

I hope more of us can take this type of indepth photos next time we tackle a project so that we can post them for the rest of the club.

I know I will be doing that as I learn the ins and outs of Corvette mechanics-ship.

Nice article!   From time to time there is an eBay auction for clock repair if you don't want to do it yourself.  Drill through the eBay C3 Auctions into the Electrical category.  In the category list click on the C3 Clocks link.

Ray, appreciate the link.  my clock doesn't work.  I think I'll pull it and try to fix it now that I have the interior pulled apart.  I can do it in the house while I wait for the weather to break.

The clock in my Vette was not working. I dismounted it and followed the instructions at the link indicated in the first message of this thread.  And now, believe it or not, it's working!!!!  I'm real glad about this site which put me in contact with very valuable info.  Adam, you maintain a really great site for Vette owners !!!

Handy link.  I did mine the other day after reading the article.  I'm in the electronics business so was able to use an ultrasonic cleaner (Isopropanol bath) to get it clean.  Used Electrolube spray to lubricate the spindles.  Only took me an hour to get it going again and then 1 day to adjust properly.

Really old post to reply to but any chance you still have the clock repair guide to upload or link to. It would probably still be useful to others and myself. My clock still works but the set knob doesn't work anymore. Always nice to see what others say about different repairs and tricks they may discover in the process.

Thanks,

Bruce

I "fixed" mine a year or two ago -- it worked for a day then quit again.  I replaced it with a quartz clock which works great.  It looks original, but the seconds hand moves a bit different so someone would be able to tell that it is not original if they knew what to look for.

The good news w/ a quartz clock is you don't have to take it apart periodically to clean the points on the spring winder.  😀
