I had to take off my door panel to fix the lock. Anyway, long story short the screw that holds the bottom of the panel to the door appears to be stripped. Is this screw just screwed into the fiberglass or is there suppose to be a clip inside the door to hold the screw? The screw itself just looks like simple sheet metal design.
If it is just screwed into fiberglass, any ideas how to fix it?

The door frame itself is metal, not 'glass. If the hole is in a place that is accessible, you might be able to use a hammer and a good back-up(buck) to resize the hole. You might be able to glue some kind of clip tot he backside of the door, if needed, but that might be a last ditch effort. Maybe a larger sized screw?
Is this one of the screws at the front, or rear of the panel?

Had the same problem on my 74. I simply found a larger screw with a smaller head about the same size as original,.

It is the screw at the bottom rear of the driver's side door. I'm worried if I do nothing, the screw will backout and damage the paint.
