Hey there Jan:
Corvette America has the right stuff and the color matches very well. I actually ordered the dye from Eckler's and it came from them with a Corvette America sticker on the can. You will need to really clean the seats or anything for that matter very well and allow them to thoroughly dry.
I did not use a primer and I am sure they will also advise you not to use one. Several light coats are better than heavy coats. They will tell you exactly what you need to order from them.
You might want to check out the wood kits before you go to Carlisle, if you are going to Carlisle. You might get it cheaper online. That was one of the first things I did to our car and what a difference. The interior looks much nicer and it is easier to clean and still looks great.
Great to have ya'll on board and it is a great site. This is my first Vette and I am not a stranger to classic cars, but this site has been very helpful and everyone is always great and helpful as we are sure you will be.
Welcome to the TANK!!

Thanks Debbie. Nice to see the women reply to these questions too. My husband and I have been in the hobby for 10 years but this is out first Corvette. Our other cars are big Chevys, his a 61 Belair 409 and mine a 62 Impala convertible. We are die hard hobbyists (obsessed but now we're definitely out of garage spaces so we have to hold at 3). Corvettes are really different so I'll be posting questions alot. Right now it's up on the lift waiting for new rear calipers. Like lots of other poster's cars it has "fading brake syndrome"
and that's our main focus right now. It's making me nuts not being able to drive it.

We will probably wait for the Fall Carlisle as we like looking at everything and I'm sure the Corvette vendors will be out in force at that one too.

Can you email me a picture of your wood console? jbh06751@aol.com Is it real wood or simulated? I got some samples of the simulated material from an Ebay seller and have to say it looks really good but I'm wondering if it's worth it to go the extra $$ for the real thing..
Was it difficult to apply?
I love the combo of dark blue with tan interior-so classy!

I agree with those who said not to use primer. Right now, you
just need to add some original color. If you prime, you need to
cover the color of the primer, and as it wears again, you will see
primer color.
WallMart sells Krylon semi-flat black paint that is just right for many interior parts.

It's a concensus then, no primer on parts that are already silver green. I will only use it on parts that come black like the compartment frames in the luggage area. One of those is cracked in half and unrepairable so I'm ordering a new set.
Just took her for a test drive after the rear calipers were replaced. So far, so good. The old ones were original and sucking air. One of the pistons was stuck, full of gunk.
Only problem is now she's roadworthy again I hate to stop driving and start working on her.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to answer the questions from a newbie. I'm sure they won't be the last.
