I am doing a body off restoration of a '69 coupe. I am having trouble finding the firewall insulation piece. This is a pre-formed piece of insulation that goes on the inside against the firewall and has the rubberized coating. I have not been able to find this at any of my several regular parts suppliers...they tell me it's a 6-month wait for the 1 person on earth who makes the darn things.
Does anyone know where I might look for one? At this point I might even consider a used piece if it were in halfway decent shape. Or is there something else I could use in its place (spray on something??) even though it would not be "correct"?
Help!!!

Go to the NCRS Technical Discussion Board and look for a message reply from Joe Lucia to any message posted there. You can then send an email direct to Joe. He has more parts knowledge of the C3 Corvettes than almost anyone else I have seen post on any forum. He can even cross-reference and find discontinued numbers.

Good luck!
Jim

Vette(s): 1970 Conv. 350/350, Wht./Blk.,P/W P/B,P/S,TT, 4 Spd.
May I suggest you call a used Vette parts dealer out in California. He will probably have an excellent used assembly.

Also, call the guys at Willcox. If they cannot help they will tell you who can.

Good Luck with your search.
