Hi all,
Ok , so now I am on to the Vacuum lines.
I have AC, in all the diagrams that I can find it shows a vacuum hose going from the climate control over to the passenger side fresh air vent actuator. That I understand.
Now, can anybody tell me what controls the DRIVERS SIDE fresh air vent???????
Here is pretty much what I find.
First is without AC

This is with AC

I can not find anything , picture , diagram , nothing that tells me what I need.
So hopefully in this vast wealth of knowledge, someone has the answer.
I want to get my interior back together so i can get this monster on the road.
Thanks
Joe

As far as I know, the A/C cars did NOT have a driver side vent in the kick panel area....that may explain why you cannot find a diagram for it.
If your car has a vent on the driver side kick panel, either it was a non-A/C car from the factory, or maybe they ran out of A/C panels when the car was being assembled, and they used what they had on hand....
That being said, I also say that I am not all that up on the early cars, as far as the A/C-venting systems....so I could be wrong.

Joel, This was a non-air car. I installed the AC for the wife.
That being said, I may just get a manual pull for that side. Or I may just modify it to be closed at all times.
Any other input is helpful.
Thanks.
Joe
there isn't an opening on the drivers side anyway if I remember right, pull the kick pad and look.........sorry, if your car was a factory non AC car there is an opening, only AC cars were closed on the drivers side....I think
, if you car was a factory non AC car the openings on the outside of the back window also had a vac operated door for the air to flow out inside of the by the package rack, AC cars were sealed closed......I think.

Joe, since your's was non-A/C, the driver(both sides, actually) side vent was operated by a cable from the shift console. It would be just like the set-up in your first diagram up there. If you still have the non-A/C shift console, there should be two slots on either side of the control panel for the cable pull levers...

Thanks,
both of you guys are right.
Air cars were closed off on the drivers side.
I just bought my vacuum adapter and all the brackets and hardware yesterday for the passenger side.
I also bought a manual choke cable at advance auto and I am goin to make a bracket so I can mount it so I will be able to open/shut the drivers side vent.
I just have to find a nice spot to mount it under the dash. (tonights project)
