Ok the front kickpanel lights are just hanging from the wire. One side had like a L shaped piece of metal and it was attached to it. The plastic kick panel behind the carpet has like a slot 1/4 inch by maybe 1 inch but not sure if something mounts through the carpet to this slot to hold the lights for kickpanel? The L shaped piece of metal has one screw and it was just screwed into the carpet???
Could someone tell me what actually should be on the kickpanel to hold the light?
Thanks BB78

BB78 - the angled clip your describing goes on the passenger side kick panel. Normally it is pop riveted to the top of the panel over the carpet with the flat part sticking out, facing down. There should be a slot in the metal clip, that's what the light fixture snaps into. Sorry I don't have any pics to help you out. Look for a hole at the top of the kick panel that would be big enough for a 3/16" pop rivet, again it goes on after the carpet. Not sure about the driver's side on a '78, perhaps someone else will chime in on that on. Hope this helps and good luck !!

They are not reproduced but check with Corvette Mack. That is where I found one he had on eBay. It was used in great shape. He always has the hard to fine little parts. It was $5.00 his prices are lower than reasonable. His PH. 404-825-7207. Give him a call he doesn't list all his parts. I looked for 8 months before I found it and have not seen another one since. Hope this was helpful.
