I just replaced a gauge on my 1978 and noticed that the gaskets that fit under the cones that direct light to the warning light filters was dry rotted. I tried to improvise and put in some foam pads but when i put it back together and turn on the headlights I can see some light bleeding in around the edges of the warning light filters. Is there something better to use as a gasket to keep the backlight from creeping into the warning light indicators?

can't you make your own gaskets out of garlock or rubber?

I will give the Garlock a try. I dont think that I could get rubber to seal tight enough to keep ot the light.
Thanks,
