You have to cut your own patterns with Dyna Mat. It would be nice to have it already formed and cut to fit in all the areas.
I have installed this before and the cut to fit method is easy if you use the carpet as a template. This holds true any choice of carpet / heat barrier installation.
I also use 3M spray adhesive on each surface. spray each item .... wait until tacky.... put in place.... peel back..... wait some more.... press into place.
Take your time!!! Your working in a small uncomfortable area but this isn't a place to hurry to get er done.
A hurried job will look just like a hurried job!

I did the Dyna Mat throughout the car a few years ago. Up the firewall all the way back to the rear panel. I just bought a kit that was all sheets. It wasn't too bad cutting and fitting. Just have a good small hand roller to smooth it out. It did make a big difference in lowering the heat and cutting down on some of the road noise. One of these days I need to line the door shell with the stuff. I'm not looking forward to that. lol.

Right now my 68 is all apart and I have a chance to do anything. So I might consider the door shell too. I had ordered some heat barrier out of Corvette America, but since then I have heard so much on the Dyna Mat that I think I will order from them. I wonder if I could overlay both of these, without causing problems with the carpet fit.
i just had my 81 done and the guy who installed it said it came in a kit allready precut for my car and i ordered the kit for my doors and my tops also i have fiberglass tops on my car and the difference was worth it and the road noise also

The Corvette Restorer issue winter 2009 had a comparison and HushMat did the best job for heat reduction. It was compared to Corvette Central ceramic heat barrier, Kool Mat, and Energy Q radiant barrier
Kool Mat is crap, it is very thin and falls apart. I have found that dyna mat is thicker and is easy to install and hush mat is the same as Kool mat.
Dyna Pad and Dyna Mat is so easy to work with and I think that it will do what is expected. I will see after I get it all back together and ready to hit the road.
Thanks
Not a fair comparison; hushmat is for sound insulation; not heat.
Anyone has experience with products other that DynaMat or lizard skin (sprayed stuff is a little too permanent for me...) for heat? Roofing material from home depot perhaps? I don't feel like paying for the "Dyna" name... and I can cut my own pieces; looks like everything "pre-cut" is twice the price.
I'm really looking for an affordable heat insulation solution. I'm assuming a molded carpet that has a jute will be enought for the sound. Our C3's are not all sheet metal; so they don't produce as much vibration noise to begin with (I think...).
Steph.
