OK, I did what the Help file said to do, but no go with the picture. Somebody want to help out a new Gold Member (2 yr.)?

Thanks in advance,

Mark,

Give this a try....

Type {IMG} member_uploads/1301_1400/1350/79driversidefront.jpg {/IMG}

You don't need the www.c3vr.com line.....use an underline between member and uploads and between 1301 and 1400.....and change the {} before and after IMG to a | (which is the symbol just above the \ on your keyboard.

You may want to make the picture a bit smaller.....if you will e-mail it to me (jenkinmc@apci.com), I will shrink and crop it a bit for you.

Martin:
Thanks so much for your help! Maybe Adam should make those directions a little more layman friendly. I took the directions literally and copied down the file name exactly as it appeared on the screen when it uploaded. Wasn't aware of the need to truncate some of the file info.

This is what is now in my signature box according to your info:

I will send you the picture, and again express my gratitude to you for helping. Just make sure I know what I need to do once you resize.

How large should I make the pictures I install on this site in order to keep them from coming out the way this one did? I tried to keep all my pictures around 3x5" when I scanned them from the photos at home.

Again, thank you! |cheers|

Thoroughly in your debt,
Mark |smokin|

P.S. When I preview it still doesn't look like the picture is coming through.

Like you and Glenn, George, I did the shut off valve too. I still have heat coming through. Seems like it is coming through the heat ducts of the heater by the trans tunnel. Not sure what's causing it. I do have the insulation weather stripping attached underneath the hood so should be keeping heat from coming in to the fresh air vent.

Do you have a GOOD insullator in the transmission tunnel and is your shift boot torn?

What I found, when restoring my A/C system on my '75,is that the water shutoff valve was not fully closed and allowing hot water up to the heater core, which produced hot air through the A/C-heat ducting. I purchased a manual shutoff valve (purchased at Autozone for just a couple dollars), installed it in about 20 minutes and my temp dropped about 15 degrees from the ducting. Since installing the shutoff valve and getting the A/C back in running condition, I don't have the "HOT FLOOR" problem anymore. I'm still going to install the heat barrier, if nothing else just for some added sound insulation.

David:

I've heard that if your hood weatherstripping is not up to par, engine heat leaks buy directly into the fresh air intake immediately behind the hood. They say this is something you should definitely replace if needed.

Can anyone tell me if this actually works and where this wire might be.  I have a 1980.  There is a 5 pin plug that plugs into the bottom of what I think is the blower relay.  I removed all of the wires, one at a time and none of them shuts off the low speed blower although they do shut all of the blower speeds off.  Also, on my 80 there is 4 positions on the blower switch.  The top position, "high" shuts the blower off completely.  Is it supposed to.  It would be a 4 speed blower if that position worked.  Otherwise it has 3 speeds.   Thanks!

[QUOTE=chuck]The low speed blower is always running bringing hot air into the cabin. You can shut it off and still have the mediun and high speeds. Under the hood on the right side of the firewall is the heater/AC box. In the top of the box is an electrical connector with 5 wires in it. Take a small screw driver and probe the slot with the dark brown wire in it, this will release that wire and shut off the low speed blower. Tape the wire back out of the way. thumb Chuck

I know this won't help everyone but I just had the A/C fixed in my 75. Went on an all day cruise yesterday and left the air on with the fan on low. Tops off, 80 degree weather and the ride was great. No heat what so ever in the cockpit.
