I got new carpeting from Corvette America for my 75 coupe. It came in left and right pieces. The instructions were quite basic. What I need to know is, do I need to remove the center console to install this, and if so, how involved is that? This is a 4-speed.
Also, the passenger side carpet piece is about 6 inches longer than the driver's side -- does this seem right?
I just finished painting this car, hopefully both the before and after pictures show up here.

Bill, +1 on not needing to remove the center console, just loosen it up and tuck under. You may need to remove the e brake cover to install the bulkhead carpet behind the seats. The difference in length is probably okay, I think the pass side should be a little longer to tuck further up underneath the dash. There will be some trimming involved, measure twice, cut once. Also note if you want to do it correctly, the rear seat mounts go on top of the new carpet, the front are supposed to go under the carpet by cutting a u shaped flap to cover the bolts. I can send you a pic if that would help, good luck !! So I have to ask about the new paint job ?? The pic looks a little fuzzy like someone did a photo shop job on it. Your car looked pretty good in the before pic, did you really paint it as shown in the after ??

No Photoshop, I'll have to try again; maybe my camera hand was shaking a bit. The finish looks pretty good for an amateur, I think

The paint is a bit wild (takes me back to my '60's days. . .) but last year at local cruise-ins people walked past the car with hardly a glance. This should change that!
Bill - Well you certainly won’t loose it in a crowded parking lot !! As you remove your old carpet, make some notes on how it’s cut and fit if it appears to be the original. That will give you some tips on how the new should be fit. Good luck.

I got the driver's side carpet in today. Not too hard of a job. Did not have to trim it much at all, just cut out for the seat belt and around the door jams.
I only replaced the driver's side because someone had cut the old carpet short on the side so it would not go under the sill plate and would not stay in place.
If anyone needs just the passenger side carpeting (black), let me know -- I'll make you a deal on it.

Never heard that term before, but I did look it up and your probably right.
I had painted a model plane like this years ago and always wanted to paint a car like that. It's growing on me. Not sure how the public will take it. . .
