I am in the middle of installing the new outer door whiskers and am having one whale of a time. This is the rubber piece that goes between the door and the door glass. I know these pieces can be installed. Can anyone give me any advice or share your experiences with the installation of these 2 pieces.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I purchased the 2 outer pieces for my 79, but from a wholesale house. They do not fit ! I went for the price, and did not get quality. Their weatherstripping was inferior also.
The pieces I received, the holes do not line up where they should just slip in. I will re-order from Zip or Eckler's. I am sure there are other house's that carry good product. You may have gotten some bogus pieces also.

Finally got the drivers side done. What I finally did was remove the window lower stops and let the window down under the outer edge of the door. Then I was able to change my angle of attack on the whiskers. I guess you actually need to come at it from below to make it work easier. Hopefully tomorrow, the passengers side will go on as easy. I will let you know how it goes.

Well, I got the passengers side put in also, finally. I also dropped the lower stops and was able to put the whiskers in. I used a big drift to set the tabs in the door. So far so good. This was a lot more difficult than I expected and I consider myself pretty decently skilled. Made my thumbs sore from pushing so hard.

Thanks. I have been working on getting it back together for about a month now. I at least get to start it up and move it back and forth in the garage some. Gotta get my seats and seat belts back in and then maybe I can go for a cruise. Its been a long time coming.
