Someone help me sort this out. If the engine heat is coming through as explained in Corvette Fever and also on posts here, wouldn't there also be heat coming through that right side vent that they say to remove and do the thing with the windshield caulk? I have cool air blowing there when the a/c - heating vents are cooking me. Am I missing something? Is this maybe a different problem?

I was wondering the same thing... could the vent system have been
different in the earlier C3's that that described in the article/thread??

I have the same problem with heat coming in the vents when in the off, vent and defrost positions.  I just had my glove box out and found a broken vacuum line between the heater control valve and the heater core switch inside the car.  Something I'll be working to fix today.  Sat.  I'll let you know how it works out.

The right kick pad vent and the plumn door share the same chamber, it is seemed to the right front fender and firewall, when the cauking is degraded it lets eng. heat to enter the common chamber, the rt. side vent is closed when the ht.-ac. are off and the plumn door is open to let fresh cooler air in through the heat and ac ducts from outside the car, the rt.side vent and evap door opens and heater door is closed when the ac is on,the plumn door above the vent door is also open to recirclulate cool air from the cockpit to make it even colder, ac. off, vent and evap. door closed, plumn door open for fresh air, heater on, both drs. closed and heater door is open, if I remember right, now, thats the way its suppose to work, with the bad seem engine heat enters the chamber and goes through the ducts, on a warm day the outside isn't realley that cool anyway, add the two together, need I say more. anips38507.8785532407
