Can anyone point me in the direction of a place that will rechrome and paint the original plastic vent balls correctly.I found a place that has a great reputation but wants 8 weeks to turn them around which probably means 12 weeks. I would like to find a reputable place that someone else has had good luck with that will turn them around a lot quicker.
I am also frustrated because I purchased reproduction balls and they just do not fit correctly. Once installed the repros will not move even with the new felt. When I take the repros out and put in the originals, the originals work fine. The repros are clearly different just by looking at them and apparently Everything Corvette is the only supplier to the market according to my supplier.
I am finished with repros unless there is absolutely no choice. They all stink!
HELP! My car has been down for 7 months when I thought it would be 2. I am having serious withdrawl symptoms.

Check out these two places:
CV Vacuum Platers <www.cvvacuumplaters.com>
Mr. G's Enterprises <www.mrgusa.com>
I've used Mr. G's before on dash parts for my '67 Dodge Charger and was pleased with their work. I haven't used CV Platers but have heard excellent things about them.

I ordered mine from Ecklers and they came in Original GM boxes so they were fine. You might want to try them.

I checked with Ecklers and GM has discontinued the vent balls and all they have are repros. Thank you it was worth a shot.
I contacted Mr. G's and I have sent the balls to them hoping he has some already in stock so I do not have to wait. If they are not in stock we are looking at 8 - 10 weeks. Ouch!
Thank you! The folks on this site are awesome! Hope I can return the favor some time.
