Is that the original radio bezel? I have been wanting to  buy a bezel that I could
put a kicking sound system in! Have any suggestions?  Stan Smile

Stan, all the vendors sell bezels that you can put the DIN style stereos. That wy its made to fit without mods.

Paint fumes in the kitchen! Are you kidding me, my wife b***hes when I ask her to run my parts through the dishwasher. Of course thats after I have soda blasted them! I couldnt imagine what she would say if I painted anywhere in the house! The soda blasting is a slow process but thats what I did on the radio bezel and shift plate. Taping the parts up was time consuming as well. And yes that is the original radio bezel. I considered the new style for the newer type radios but wanted to keep the factory look so I bought a radio that was to be an original looking with new circuitry. However I dont think it looks as original as I wanted but I didnt have a factory radio to send out to have rebuilt so I went with it. Hopefully it will be a good sounding radio! Lukester, Where did you start when you put your interior back together. I thought I would do the dash area first then the carpet to the console area. then finish the back compartments before the seats. I dont get excited about this because aftermarket parts probably will take a long time to try to get everything lined up. I am thinking about putting the trans in before I finish the console because of adjusting the neutral safety switch. But I didnt receive my convertor yet so I might be on hold for a while!

Well heres my latest update after tonights work. First I got my shipment that included the interior dye. Dont ask why but some of the new interior parts come unpainted. Dont matter where you buy them. Anyway, i looked at the interior dye and it was a different number then what I previously had been shipped. My interior is light saddle and the first dye said light saddle but the parts number wasnt correct so my steering column had been painted with a medium saddle. So tonight I had to sand and repaint the column. I checked the color to see how noticeable the column would look with the light saddle interior but I knew it had to be changed. So I painted it tonight. It truely was my first spray gun experience. I always used spray bombs before. It turned out great. I placed the dash pad inside the pillars and it looks very nice. I will get some pics tomorrow night. The heater core and fan box got put in tonight as well. I painted them last night so thats done. I plan on doing some research tonight on our site to find out what the best reassembly steps should be in putting the dash back together since I have all the windshield trimming off as well and I know that somethings have to be done in the right order or I'll have trouble once the windshield is in. Bad part is I didnt take it apart the guy that did the body work did and I dont really want to pay him to put it back together if I dont have too. I would like to complete the interior by the end of next weekend. Its a goal and I think I can make it if I dont have to order anything else. Oh yea, my other mistake is that the shifter plate and radio bezel is painted with a semi gloss instead of the satin black. I dont think IIm going to redo them because I think they look good. I did put the gages back in the bezel last night as well. So its ready to go and I painted the wiper switch plate. I am sure that I will need something that is going to hold me up but I'll have to wait and see what it is! lol Anyway thats my plan. Moving forward and having fun again.
