My 68 Coupe has the interior rear view mirror with the day/night switch
on it and a rubber moulding that surrounds it. Its original and
the mirror needs to be resilvered. There are places that will
resilver it, but they only want the mirror, not the stainless
frame. Does anyone know how to take the interior mirror apart
without destroying everything? I'm assuming I remove the rubber
edge first, then how do I separate the glass portion from the stainless
frame? I don't think I can soak it in a solvent, as that will
destroy the flipper switch, as its rubber (I think).
Thanks

Repro not an option. Need it for judging.

Mark,
Try Paragon, they may be able to sell you a reconditioned mirror that is properly dated, or they may be able to recondition yours.

I found a lady in Kentucky that restores them. Her name is Carol
Fish. Got the reference from the National Corvette Restorers Webb
site. Going to go that route.
