Normand, if I can suggest something. Don't rip out the whole interior at once. take your time and do one side at a time. use the old pieces to lay over the new noes as a template. You can do it, it is a little frustrating, trimming all of the time, but it is worth it. the only real PITA is taking the carpet off of the seat backs.

Ok chris
take my time to do a good job that is the secret
also the back panel of the seats are off, it was hard to take off because of the staples all around and the glue all over.
is it better do take off one piece and put the new one or take it all off ???

When I did my car I took out pass seat and pass carpet. Replaced pass carpet and then replace seatback carpet. Then I did the drivers side the same order. Then I put new console sides on and put them in before the seats(obviously). Then I tackled the rear. The only "problem" with the rear is the speaker area and under the shade. Under the shade you have to pull off a rubber strip which "locks" the carpet on a metal frame. I got extra heat barrier and glued hat down, but didn't glue the carpet down. just in case I have a problem and would need to replace just one area of carpet. Good luck

what did you do to take off the rear piece under the shade pull it up or ???
also I have to bring the seats to get them dye and the interior door panel because the bothom of the door panel is carpet and it did not come with the carpet set.

Ok, I didn't re-carpet my door panels and I painted the seat buckets when I had them out. I got a spray gun for my compressor because I knew I was going to do this project.
Retract your shade all of the way and take your speaker covers off. Right under where the shade retracts to, you will see where the carpet goes up a "wall" and ends. This is where the peice I'm talking about is. I used a small screwdriver, starting in the speaker area and pried up on the rubber piece which you will see (it is black). I then gently pulled up on the rubber to release it from the mteal support SLOWLY to the other side of the car. Take your time and it will be no problem. The new carpet already has that rubber piece installed and you just "snap"it on the metal rod. Let me know if you need any more hints, and good luck

FWIW I was not at all impressed with the ACC carpet for my '70. The rear didn't fit. I'm still waiting for replacement carpet for the rear. The first round the color was totally off (I have bright blue interior). I decided to can the entier ACC set give it back to the guy who sold it to me at Carlisle. It's not his fault - he's tried several times to get ACC to get their act together. They used to be really good but there was a plane wreck a few years ago and a bunch of the people who worked there were killed. Since then their quality has gone down the tubes.
Next thing on my list is to order carpet from Romeo Engineering instead. From asking around other NCRS buddies theirs has a much better fit and the felt comes separate, you just glue it as needed so that you can layer the rubberized insulator inbetween or reuse your original felts. Also Romeo has the IMCO logo on the heel pad. I'm not sure if their stitching size is exactly like originals or not though. If you're into an NCRS / Bloomington correct restoration, you might want to check out Romeo - but give yourself lead time. They're a small Mom & Pop outfit and get way behind on non-black colored orders. ;) ~Juliet
