I have this in my '68 camaro. Great stuff for noise and heat. I also put it under the hood of my corvette in place of the dust collecter hood liner. Not stock, but looks good.

If you're trying to cut noise, don't forget about the inside door panels, especially in a metal car. I added sound deadening to the door panels on my old Cutlass and the difference was like night and day.

I have a 1972 LS5 Coupe and I'm also looking for a way to reduce heat penetration in the cockpit (and make it quieter at the same time).
How would you add sound deadening to the door panels of a C-3 (as the interior door panel clearance seems to be tight)? Would a spray-on sound deadener be an alternative ?
I was also looking at the "Koolmat" solution for the floor and rear area and was wondering if it would also be advantagous (from a sound-deadening perspective) to also include it in the door cavity and possibly the T-top panels?

Yeah, Dynamat and Dynamat Extreme are good, but there are definitely cheaper porducts out there that work just as well. I had RAMMatt24 installed in my car (floor only for now) when I redid the carpet. It's a bit quieter and even cooler with only one layer! I got it off of Ebay, and still have a TON left over. I will probably do my Explorer next, lol.

Everyone trys fixing with insulation and ignoring the problem. I found out by mistake the source of most C3 heat problems in the interior. I had a leaking heater core and I installed a bypass to keep hot water out of the leaking heater core - All heat problems in the interior were gone. After investigation I found that the rubber seals in the heater box no longer allowed for a true shutoff of heat coming into the interior. Most everyone is driving with the heat on(since no seal is keeping the heat out) and assumes the problem is something else. The problem is the seals in the heater box. They are rubber and never designed to last past 10 or 15 years. Dr Rebuild (www.docrebuild.com)makes a kit to fix this. Another common problem is the seals on the manual vents of non A/C cars not keeping out outside air. The project is not too hard on a non-A/C car but I expect it could be very involved in an A/C car.
Good luck,
Good luck,

Dynamat is actually used alot in cars with stereo systems in the trunk. They used it to confine the sound to the car and trunk, and so it wouldnt rattle the parts off of them..lol...i've used it in my 85 trans am because of the interior resonance (sp?) of the exhaust...i used to have a dull drone because of the placement of the exhaust and this stuff took care of it
