I am doing a body off on a 72 coupe and am just about finished the frame components. I am starting to look at interior components now and would appreciate feedback on leather seat covers and carpet. Can anyone tell me the difference between Al Knoch covers, which are apparently the elite of the covers, and the less expensive leathers. I am not doing an NCRS resto but do want good quality. Also with the carpet, is there any difference in wear quality between 80/20 loop and cut pile - what about ease of cleaning? Appreciate hearing your opinions and experiences....TIA..Keith

I would look into Wilcox for seat covers as well. I understand they have great prices and are good to work with.

The cut pile is easier to clean,it is open at the top, kinda like grass, the loop pile tends to hold the dirt in more,if you clean it all the time it does'nt make much difference ,between one and the other, the newer Vettes have cut pile the older ones have loop, its up to you

I bought my carpet from Al Knoch. I got the 80/20 version of the carpet
for mine with the backing already installed on the carpet. The carpet
went in fairly easily and looks pretty good. I got the 80/20 because I
didn't want to have just loop in the car. So far so good.
Thanks for the input. Ya, Willcox is really good, I have an account with them so I'll ask Ernie to compare their stuff with Al Knoch. I know its just a matter of preference since this is a custom resto, but am looking for durability and cleanability as well as looks. Thanks again, folks......Keith
