I'm replacing my seat covers and am trying to decide on leather or vinyl. Does anybody have the vinyl and how do they wear?

If you car is pretty much original, then I would put in what the trim plate calls for.

I had vinyl seat covers in my car when I bought it even though they were not original to my car. They were less than two years old when I purchased the car so I left them alone. Within four years the thread they used to stich the seats started seperating on the seat bottom.
I had black leather seat covers from Al Knoch put on the seats. Al can always be found at Corvettes at Carlisle. The leather is starting to break in and they are just beautiful, they are softer and more comfortable when driving. They do require maintenance however, you have to keep them clean and conditioned if you want a long life out of them.
When you have a convertible and live where it gets HOT and you leave the top down that is the real test, hot vinyl on the touche doesn't feel so good. The leather definatly has the advantage here.
Good luck and this has been my experiance with seat covers, I hope that it helps a bit.

P.S. When Al Knoch installed my covers he put in the new foam and replaced the seat backs as well without charging me...I am a loyal customer of his.... |saluteflag|

Thanks for the help. If he threw in the foam and seat backs that was a pretty good deal. Unless he charges a lot for instalation. |thumb|
