Does anybody know what this black hose with the red connector is?

I have just about finished putting the interior back in my 78, including dash etc and noticed this thing a few days after I pulled everything out. I was quite organised in my disassembly, so this item has me puzzled. I cant seem to find anything that it might plug into.

The red connector is a "wire-nut" that somebody stuck in the hose to plug it!!
From the area that the hose is in, I'd say it goes to the headlight switch, or the override switch.

Way to go Joel... you think they would have used the old screw trick...  maybe for the Cruise control... looks like the chain on the brake/clutch pedal for cruise control?

Thanks Guys. The cruise control doesn't work, the controls are still on the indicator stalk though. Cruise control was way down on my list of things to fix. Maybe I'll investigae the C.C components now and see if I can get it to work.

I have had my Vette off the road for a while (sorting out the heater and heat issues), can wait to drive it again. See picture from a few weeks ago. nearly back together now though.

I added the insulation to mine when I had the interior out a year ago. It made a big difference (road noise wise). I couldn't tell that much difference from the heat with the exception of the console area. I also did the dood as well to quite the engine noise down. The foil back looks pretty goood under the hood.
I place cruise in and car show dash placques on this as well to spice it up.

Nice job on the car Ray!! What brand of Red Lines are are you running! The only ones I could find were Coker's and I thought they were a bit pricey.

Speaking of that, has anybody checked tire prices lately? I bought some for the Rustang a while back and paid more for 14" tires than I did for the ones I put on the vette!

That hose with the wire nut looks to be too big for the headlight switch, but I really don't know why it's there. Maybe for a vacuum gauge?

Yeah, it does, don't it? Maybe for the C.C. brake/dump switch?
