Had to replace my tachometer and cable.  I took out the steering column and drivers side lower dash.  After re-assembling I noticed the tach cable is kinked against the bracket that holds the steering column (see pic)  This bracket is labeled "T" in the attached AIM diagram.  I'm not sure thee are any adjustments available on this bracket.  Anyone encounter this before?  Thanks.

Mario, I know things are very tight behind the tach/speedo but I've never seen one like that before, I don't think any cable is going to work properly under those conditions. I know of no adjustment to the column mount bracket you are referring to, but I could be wrong. If I remember right, the cable should go to one side or the other of that bracket. My car is a bit buried in the garage right now, but perhaps I can get to the underside of my dash to get an idea of how mine is routed. Regarding your steering column issue, again, there's another one I've never seen before. If your column came out of the rag joint, you'd think it would go back in if you get it back in the same alignment. Have you tried to spread the rag joint open a bit with a large screw driver ?? It may give you a little more room to slide thing together. I'll advise if I find anything on the cable issue. Good luck !!

Thanks so much for the reply! I was so frustrated I took everything out again including the two. brackets under the dash that hold the steering column. I double.checked everything to make sure everything was in alignment and it all seems to be in alignment now. Not sure what was off. When I first put the dash back in it was after it sat out for years so I'm thinking the lower dash pad itself needed to conform back into shape and it was throwing everything off. I let it sit in the sun a while and it got nice a malleable. Anyway back together again I just hope all the instruments work! I did forget to put the hood release back in before the dash and it looks impossible to do with the dash installed. Oh well! these cars are the hardest to work on! PS the steering shaft splines still seem to be shallow in the rag joint ,Could my column be slightly collapsed? I'm going to live with it because I'm shopping for a tilt and tele! Just hope it doesn't. One out on the highway 😮
