I have the new door panels installed but the lower corners are loose. Not sure if they need clips or screws. Anyone have an install diagram for the panels? I REALLY don't want to put unneeded holes someplace!

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
May have issues getting a response the C3VR get together weekend.
Good luck hope you get some wiser person to give you the real answer.
But I had that issue with my CE. There is carpet on the bottom half of the door so I just drilled through with some short self tapping screws and was done with it . The only problem I have i finding the heads when I had to take it off again a few months later. I put them back in the same holes the second time.
If yours does not have carpet on the lower half I would still use self Tapping Screws but I would use the ones that are chrome and I would put a chrome washer on also. Being careful to make it look like it was factory. I did not find anything on my doors that looked like the modern cars have to hold the bottom in place and did not like it flopping around.
While mine is numbers matching mostly original I just did not want the door panel flapping around.
Good luck hope you get some wiser person to give you the real answer.

Door panel fit is crappy to start with, even when new.
Make sure you have all of the plastic "velcro" pieces on both the door, and the panel. Afaik, that's all that hold the panel on, except for the screw at the rear, and one at the front, and the ones around the door handle/lock plate.

The fit of the door panels is pretty good...as long as you have your door laying on the ground and the panel on top. Once it's on the door it just hangs there. It looks like I'm going to afix a strip of abs or the like to the inside of the door panel and attach velcro to that and the door. Maybe I'll just get some nice red and white duct tape and let my inner Bubba fix it!

The door panels have two clips that are anchored in the cardboard and are screwed into the door frame with very short sheet metal screws. There's one at the front and one at the back. There are two chrome screws at the top. One at the front and one at the back. They are visible when finished. Those are the only fasteners, except for the velcro tabs, which don't do very much. The clips are available at Ecklers or Zip. I have a couple of extras, if you have trouble getting them.
