It was "STYLIN' Ben! The guy was actually driving a stretch Seville with wide whites and mirrors all the way up front like an old Rolls!
(actually might as well have been that, I bought it from a "broker", he tried to make me suspect it might have been an L-89)
I bought the car in 88, you could still get a decent deal on a big block car then. You just had to be a bit smarter than the broker.
Believe this or not, a lot of my vette buddys tried to talk me out of the car because it was a 68 (first year).

carpet arrived today..
one hitch.. they sent me the Correct carpet for 69.. the 80/20 loop even though i asked for cut-pile.
i hate 80/20 and will not intall it in my car. (by the time i sell it, it will need new carpet anyway)
so once again I have to wait.
perhaps one of you anal retentive interior detail guys can help me.
in my car right now I have a crusty old torn up rubber mat followed by a layer of padding, followed by two layers of carpet.. I have no idea what should be here.. all i know is that everything I have now is garbage.
is there supposed to be a rubber mat here ?
when i bought my carpet from willcox they asked me if I needed a new pad, and even sold me a thermal barrier, but both of these were only for the front. is there a pad in the rear ?
i thought they would have tried to sell me everything i could possibly need, so I asumme there is nothing else.. but just want to be sure.
they tell me that thermal goes first.. then the pad.. is this correct ??
and is there any gluing involved.. I dont know much of anything about carpet.
and while im asking.. anyone have a recommendation for new door panels ???
thanks in advance.
